All of our Kids’ Programs exist for two reasons. The first is to help your children learn and make friends at church in an age-appropriate setting. The second is to free you from distraction so that you can more easily engage while at church. Your children are, however, very welcome to remain in church with you. It is up to you what will be most helpful for you and your child.
Children begin church sitting with their parents, but are invited to move out to their own programs after about 15 minutes. Our children’s programs are Crèche for 1-2 year olds, Squirts for 3-4 year olds, Stars for school years K-1, Stompers for school years 2-5, and a Youth Bible Study for school years 6-9.
We also have a Parents’ Room for the comfort of parents with breastfeeding infants and toddlers who aren’t yet ready to leave mum or dad during church.
On your child’s first time in one of our programs, please complete a Child Information Form so that we can look after them and get to know them as quickly and easily as possible. Forms are on the table with the name tags as you enter church.
Crèche is provided for children under the age of three. We are flexible about when babies begin in Crèche, so please discuss this with our leaders, but around a child’s first birthday is typical. Once a child turns three and is toilet trained, they generally move into our “Squirts” program.
During Crèche your children will play with leaders and other children their age. Activities may include a Bible story, songs, indoor play, and drawing. It concludes with a morning tea of plain biscuits and outdoor play in our sun-sheltered playground.
Please ensure you sign you child both in and out of Crèche each week, and provide your child with a labeled drink bottle and hat. If your child is in nappies, please discuss nappy changing with the leaders.
Squirts is provided for children from the age of three until they start school. In general, children should be toilet trained before attending Squirts, but our female leaders will be happy to assist your child use our child-sized toilets.
During Squirts your children will sing songs, hear a Bible story, pray, and do some craft. It concludes with a morning tea of plain biscuits and outdoor play in our sun-sheltered playground.
Please ensure you sign you child both in and out of Squirts each week, and provide your child with a labeled drink bottle and hat.
Stars is our program for students in years K-1. It includes age-appropriate bible teaching, songs, craft, and games in a fun and interactive environment. After the program children are served morning tea at their own serving window next to the adults morning tea area.
Stompers is our program for students in years 2-5. Stompers includes age-appropriate bible teaching, songs, craft, and games in a fun and interactive environment. After the program children are served morning tea at their own serving window next to the adults morning tea area.
Our Youth Bible Study meets during the 9:30am Sunday family church service. While adults are in church, youth have the opportunity to read the Bible for themselves, discuss it with their peers, and get to know each other in a meaningful way.
